Prof Oluwole Babafemi Familoni was born on 24th November, 1957 into the respected family of Mr. Gabriel Familoni and Mrs.  Alice Familoni of Ido Ekiti in Ido-Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State. He attended the University of Lagos for the Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry which he bagged in 1981. He pursued and earned the Master of Philosophy degree in Chemistry at the University of Lagos, and thereafter, attended the same University of Lagos for theDoctor of Philosophy degree in Organic Chemistry, meritoriously received in 1990.

Professor Familoni has a very rich and diverse post-graduation work experience.  He started as a Lecturer 11 in 1990 and rose through the ranks to be promoted to the post of full Professor in 2004. Professor Familoni’s career blossomed exceptionally at the University of Lagos, particularly because of his special endowment of diligence, outstanding productivity and human relations. His career ascension was therefore smooth, with his promotion to the position of Sub-Dean of Faculty of Science between 2000 and 2002; Head of Department of Chemistry between 2002 and 2005; Dean of Faculty of Science between 2008 and 2013.  He served as the Chairman, Housing Committee of the University; and was elected member of the University Senate for three-time tenure of two years between 1997 and 2003. He was a Member of many committees in the University. As an energetic and active person, he had served as Secretary to the Chemical Society of Nigeria at the Local, State and National levels between 1992 and 2006. He was the Chairman, Local Organizing Committee in September, 2006. Professor Familoni was a member of the Governing Council of National Centre for Efficiency and Conservation 2009-2012 and Member, Governing Council, Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria from 2014 till date. He is a productive scholar and mentor. He has successfully supervised seven Doctoral theses and is currently supervising ten Doctoral theses, forty Master of Science dissertations and has over fifty publications in peer review learned journals.  He has also served as External Examiner to various Universities in the country and abroad.

Professor Familoni is a chartered Chemist and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London (FRSC), Fellow of Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN), Fellow Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (FICCON), Member Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria (MIPAN). He has received many awards and recognitions. He was awarded the Distinguished Alumni, University of Lagos in 2012. He was granted Visiting Fellowship by South African Foundation for Research & Development in 1997. A Research Chemist to the core in the area of organic synthesis, he was a five-time research awardee in 1993, 1996, 2004, 2006 and 2014 by the Royal Society of Chemistry, London. He was a CIDA/NSERC Research Fellow, awarded by the National Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada; and has a host of other recognitions too numerous to mention. He is currently a Member of the Governing Council Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State.




Barr. Gbemi Jaiyebo was enrolled as a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1985. In the year 2000, he was admitted to the First Department of the Supreme Court of the State of New York. Apelllate Division and in 2005 to the United States District Court, Southern District of New York. He formerly worked in the Chambers of Chief Ladosu Ladapo SAN and in the New York Firm of Inyama and Jaiyebo. He is Head of Chambers of Prexint Law Partners. At different times, he lectured at the Obafemi Awolowo University and University of Lagos; Law Faculties. He was a visiting scholar at Columbia University in the City of New York. He teaches at the College of Law, Osun State University. He previously served on the National Executive Committee of Amnesty International, Nigeria Section and as Executive Director, HOPE Community Development Corporation, Teaneck, New Jersey. He was on the Advisory Board of the Black Infant Mortality Reduction Resource Centre (BIMRRC). Paramus New Jersey an organization engaging systemic problems on disparities and cultural competency in the health sector. He also served on the Board of Directors, Legal Services of New York City, (LSNYC) the largest civil legal services provider in the United States.He is currently a Member of the Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State.
