CHAIRMAN OF GOVERNING COUNCIL, HON. YAKUBU DATI COMMENDS NANS AT INAUGURAL BOARD MEETING OF FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC ILE-OLUJI, ONDO STATE  

 

The Chairman, Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo state, Hon. Yakubu Dati, has commended the National Association of Nigerian Students [NANS], for its resolve to condemn the proposed protest against the Federal Government. 

Dati made the statement during the inauguration of the Governing Council attended by stakeholders including the student union of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji  [FEDPOLELSU]. 

The Council Chair opined that the stance of NANS had removed the sail from the wings of opposition elements seeking to lead the nation to avoidable path of chaos. 

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Ademola Ebeloku, along with his principal officers said the institution has recorded modest achievements, expressing confidence that the Governing Council will addressed challenges faced by the institution.  

The Chairman accompanied by members of the Governing Council including Comrade Innocent Ogbanje, Bar Abdulhamed Zubairu, Baribote Solomon, TPL Umar Shuaibu, and Mrs Hannah Usman, amongst others, applauded the maturity displayed by the student’s resolve to join hands with the current administration to ensure that the welfare and well-being of Nigerian students is realized. 

The chairman charged the students to key into the Nigerian Education Loan Fund [NELFUND], and other programs initiated by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to uplift indigent students. 

The Rector who led the Governing Council along with the Registrar, Awe Gabriel, and Principal officers had earlier paid homage to HRM Oba Dr Julius Adetimehin, JIMOKO II, who warmly welcomed the team and assured them of the community’s support for the Polytechnic which they hold dear. 

The Jegun Olu-Ekun & Paramount Ruler Of Ile Oluji Kingdom appreciated the efforts of the President and gave his Royal blessings. 

In an interactive session with key stakeholders of the Polytechnic community where they tabled their requests, the Chairman assured that the Council will liaise with relevant authorities to provide succor in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration. 

 

The member representing the host community on the council, Mr. O. A. Oyewunmi reeled out efforts by the community to mitigate challenges faced by the institution. 

In closing, Hon. Dati informed the excos that they were partners-in-progress to uplift the institution to enviable heights in line with their mandate by President Bola Tinubu who appointed them. 

The chairman advocated for dialogue as a veritable platform for addressing challenges as the President means well. According to him, the President is courageously taking necessary decisions to transform the country on the path of recovery, stating that the country is on the curve of recovery and prosperity for this generation and generations yet unborn.
