The department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering is one of the first five take-off departments of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State. The pioneer staff of the department comprise of four lecturers, two technologists and one technician. Staff were meeting on the need to design a structure of operation and the need to prepare for academic activities immediately after assumption of duty. This however was given a much needed motivation when the management of the institution on February 11, 2016 inaugurated the department with Engr. T.D. Ebinowen as the first acting Head of Department.
We are focused in finding best solutions, through research, to major problems facing humanity and our local community in particular.
We are dedicated to training students within the period of learning in our school to be skilled in the field of electrical and electronic engineering. Coming out of here to become a high-flyer and seasoned professional engineer who will be globally suitable for various tasks.

Programme Objective
The Programme in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is aimed to provide sound practical and technical knowledge and skills to students of the department. The various objectives of the programme are:
providing students with high quality education in Electrical/Electronic Engineering;
providing students with theoretical foundations and practical skills of Electrical/Electronic Engineering;
enabling students to develop the ability to work independently and cooperatively;
enabling students to work and take leadership positions in industries and teaching/research institutions;
Enabling students to become academically and professionally competent Electrical/Electronic Engineers.

Every student in the department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering is expected to acclimatize himself/herself to the details in the departmental handbook. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
 NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING
Applicant must possess at least five credit passes in SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB O’ level. The five (5) subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any one (1) of the following science subjects: Further Mathematics, Biology, Agricultural Science and Technical Drawing.Â
HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING
In addition to the requirements for National Diploma as stated above, candidate seeking Higher National Diploma admission must possess a good National Diploma certificate from a recognized polytechnic with minimum of lower credit and evidence of completion of one year industrial training.Â
