Rector’s Charge 11/03/2024
The Matriculation ceremony for regular students comes up this week and it signals the end of admission into programmes of the Polytechnic for 2023/2024 academic session, the ceremony is vital because it is at such ceremonies that newly admitted students are accepted into the academic community of the Polytechnic and its body of scholars.
The beginning of the Ramadan fast is upon us and as a community, I wish the Muslim Ummah in the Polytechnic Allah’s help and strength as you all begin one of the sacred injunctions delivered by the Al-Quran.
This year’s fast should be used as an opportunity to supplicate on behalf of the country for the easing of the multifarious challenges that besets our land and that the mercies of Allah will find expression in our community and country as a whole. On behalf of Management I wish the Muslim Ummah RAMADAN KAREEM.
The orientation programme for students of ICE will also take place, to formally bring them up to speed on the ethos, rules and regulations that guide our conduct as an institution and as a community of scholars. It is expected that every part-time student will make themselves available as a matter of compulsion and lecturers are to also note that the date is lecture free.
Furthermore, we will gather this week to felicitate our illustrious and amiable pioneer Rector, Prof. E. A. Fasakin, who he has established his gait and solidified his standing as an outstanding administrator of no small note, it is to his credit that the Polytechnic is on a firm footing.
On behalf of Management, Staff and Student we pray that he continues to enjoy wholesome and unabridged health and successes in all his endeavours.
I will not end this charge, without appreciating members of Management, Staff, Students and other well-wishers who took out time to felicitate and celebrate my wife and I on the silver anniversary of our union, the outpouring of very deep and precious thoughts are sincerely appreciated by my family.
I want to also implore all staff to be at their point of duties, either at the desk assigned to you or in the classroom teaching students. It is disheartening to find staff absent without justifiable reason. The Management of the Polytechnic frowns on such laisser-faire and lackadaisical attitude and would not tolerate such culture in the institution.
Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji remains stoic in the pursuit of excellence and would continue to find improved and better ways of delivering on the goals and aspirations of its founding fathers wishing you all a highly impactful and productive week.
Thank you.

Signed
Dr. Ademola I. Ebeloku
